The attached consultation is about the way in which funds are delegated to mainstream schools in East Sussex for SEN, additional educational needs and social deprivation. It will not affect the way in which special schools and special units and facilities are funded nor will it alter the funding for central support services.
It is important that everyone has an opportunity to put forward his or her views. This consultation is the first stage in the review process and is about the general principles of the review of funding.
The Funding Reference Group is very keen to know what you think about the key principles in this booklet. They will provide the basis for any revisions to the school funding formula and are therefore very important in shaping how we go forward.
There are three key consultation questions:
- Are the principles broadly the right ones?
- Are there any additional principles that should be considered?
- What are the significant factors and issues that need to be taken into consideration?
