ESCVYS Awards

ESCVYS launched its first annual awards event in 2010.

The inaugural ESCVYS Voluntary & Community Youth Awards were held at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne in November.

We launched the awards to pay tribute to the fantastic work carried out in the voluntary and community youth sector in East Sussex by children, young people and adults.

The aim was to reward those individuals and teams who had gone the extra mile during the past year and highlight the enthusiasm, dedication, creativity and teamwork of our membership.

The evening was a fantastic success, attended by more than 200 supporters, including Stephen Lloyd, MP for Eastbourne, Amanda Hamblin, Deputy Lord Lieutenant for East Sussex, and Cllr Rupert Simmons, Chairman of East Sussex County Council.

The night, which was hosted by presenter and Southern Water PR Manager Beverley Thompson and students Sally Copewell and Dan Gravenor, from Sussex Downs College, also included performances by Ratton Stomp, Respond Academy and Ali Gunes, of Chailey Youth Group.

Trophies and certificates were presented in eight categories to winners and runners-up, which were sponsored by Southern Water, Sussex Downs College, Code 7 Web Design, LDA Design (Eastbourne), John Connor Press Agency, Wave Leisure and BMI Sussex Diagnostics.
