Our members meeting was held on 14 November 2007 and themed around the participation of you peoplein organisations.

Date for your Diary - ESCVYS Council MeetingWednesday 14 November 2007 – Boship Farm Hotel – 1900-2100

  • Steven Pryse NCVYS - Youth Participation: The principles and a practical guide to setting up a Young People’s Advisor’s group for your organization/project
  • Mark Burgess SCYP – Practical advice on facilitating Young People making funding applications  

We will also be seeking your support and ideas around shaping ESCVYS for the future.


ESCVYS Council Meeting

The next ESCVYS Council Meeting will be taking place on Wednesday 28 February 2007 at 6.30-8.30 at the EAVS Annexe in Saffrons Road Eastbourne.

We are delighted to have 2 speakers and the launch of our website.

The Committee Conundrum

The Hastings Voluntary Action Committee Conundrum series is starting again on 8th March. 

The Committee Conundrum is a series of workshops that covers many of the common issues that people face when running a voluntary or community group. Topics include forming a committee, running a meeting, budgets, funding applications and monitoring & evaluation. You can attend all the workshops, or just the ones that are relevant for you.More details can be found on the HVA website:

Forum Update

I wanted to keep you updated with the activities after our forum event on 13 October. We are delighted to be able to confirm that the colleagues below have agreed to become part of the initial steering group to drive forward VCS engagement on a county level with the Children’s Trust.

VCS Forum Event

Further to the forum event ESCVYS held on Friday 13 October 2006 we have now produced for your information 3 documents:

The Forum was held to look at how Voluntary and Community Organisations working with children and young people in East Sussex would like to liaise with the local authority and the Children's Trust on a county level.
