What we do

ESCVYS acts as the voice of the voluntary and community youth sector in East Sussex.

Many of our members are small, grass roots organisations run by volunteers in their spare time who provide an invaluable service in their communities.

Our role is to offer practical advice, information and search out training and funding opportunities so our members can devote their time to the children and young people in their organisations.

We also represent their needs to the local and national authorities and provide a communication channel for other organisations, including funders and sponsors, to consult our members.

We aim to:

• Represent the voluntary and community youth sector on regional and national councils
• Work with Connexions and Youth Service Development
• Help shape policy on young people in East Sussex
• Offer set up advice and guidance to new voluntary and community organisations
• Share information on funding and training opportunities
• Advise organisations on policy, best practice and day to day running
• Share expertise and opportunities across East Sussex
• Raise the profile of our members in East Sussex

We are also a member of the National Council for Voluntary Youth Service (NCVYS) and keep our members up to date with the latest national news and guidance.
